IronGlass MKII Rehoused Helios Prime FF 58mm T2.1
The IronGlass MKII Rehoused Helios 44-2 58 mm is the most well-known prime in the Soviet cine lineup and is based on the proven Biotar design. It delivers a natural, slightly compressed perspective with soft contrast, gentle edge falloff, and neutral color reproduction. Subjects appear clear and sharp without harsh “jagged” edges. Its round, organic flares and “swirly bokeh” create the signature analog Helios look.
The robust cine housing features internal focusing, precise T-stop markings, and a 15-blade aperture. Proven in blockbusters such as Dune: Part Two, The Batman, and The Creator, it is compatible with PL-mount cameras including Alexa 35 & Mini LF, RED Raptor, and Sony Venice. The MKII version covers Super 35, Full Frame, and Large Format and focuses down to 46 cm, making it ideal for detailed portraits and medium telephoto shots.
